Plastic sorting and material analysis

Innovative technologies for the circular plastics economy

The new VARISORT+

The multi-sensor sorting system VARISORT+ can be used universally in many different recycling applications (e.g. plastics, metal, electronic waste, wood and solid waste recycling).

It will sort mixed streams into single fractions, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the highly pure recycled material can be profitably reprocessed in the production cycle. Optimally scattered on a fastrunning conveyor belt the waste reaches the detection area. The electronic evaluation unit determines the exact position of the unwanted products, and with accurate timing and positioning activates the corresponding nozzles of the air-blast unit.

The advantages of the new VARISORT+:

  • Even more precise rejection due to shorter distance between NIR camera and air-blast nozzles
  • Plug & Play housing: The sorting system is available with or without conveyor belt
  • Various lighting functions available
  • Detection of Multilayer and Scavenger bottles

The new FLAKE SCAN for fast material analysis of plastic flakes

Especially for the analyzation of polymer flakes such as PET-, HDPE or mixed plastics flakes Sesotec provides its FLAKE SCAN analyzing system.

Equipped with a color and a NIR camera the FLAKE SCAN reliably detects the amount of color and material contamination in a product sample. The FLAKE SCAN can be customized for different materials. The results are presented through the SesoDesk software and can be compared with previous results. The FLAKE SCAN guarantees a substantial saving of time compared to a manual analyzation and gives our customers the opportunity to quickly react to quality problems.

  • Universal system for plastic recyclers and processors
  • Reliable detection of contaminants
  • Quick analysis of large samples
  • Established Sesotec sensor- and software-technology

KRS Recycling Systems - Innovative glass recycling

Exhibition highlight K9 FLASH MXC-CFoN

The K9 FLASH

Dark, non-transparent glass is a special challenge for the recycling process because CSP contaminations and dark glass so far could hardly be differentiated. Therefore such cullet of dark colour was mainly sorted out together with CSP contaminations and thus ended up in landfills.

Sesotec‘s K9 FLASH C-C multi-sensor sorting systems operate with high-precision highspeed cameras that allow a scan rate of more than 20,000 scans per second and thus a detection of up to 100,000 glass particles per minute. Combined with state-of-the-art LED light technology these cameras provide highly accurate optical measurements of every single piece of broken glass.

With a new evaluation process that among others employs Artificial Intelligence approaches this state-of-the-art system is able to differentiate between dark glass and ceramic, stone and porcelain (CSP) parts.
